Since this hotel is only a few minutes drive from our house, we do dine here from time to time. The design of this restaurant is a bit awkward probably of space constraint they tried to utilized all the odd space. Most of the tables are secluded (a closed booths). Because of the space constraint, you can hear other customers conversation clearly. Anyhow, the food menu was good, we enjoyed the beef teppanyaki especially. The price was reasonable too and the service was OK.

Le Meridien Hotel KL
This hotel is one of our favorite dining spot in KL. Its restaurants, Latest Recipe and Prime are definitely must visit. the foods are divine and you are spoiled by food selection and the staffs are extremely friendly. We frequently dine at Latest Recipe Restaurant for their buffet. I love the caesar salad, teppanyaki beef/prawns/chicken etc and many more. Here are some photos from the desssert area. Pretty much gone :)
Tioman Island
We took a holiday break last year to Tioman Island and decided to stay at Berjaya Tioman Resort. We booked 4 nights and had a good time, most of it. We departed from Subang Airport with Berjaya Air & the landing at little Tekek Airport was an experience (if you love roller coaster you will find it fun). You do need to pay RM5.00 per person (adult) for marine conservation at Tioman airport. BTR provides free shuttle buses, airport-resort (vice versa), it was very convenient. The downside was, almost everyone on the plane were staying at BTR so guests had to queue up for check-in. We didn't, I managed to get off the shuttle quickly & rushed to the front desk while my partner sorting out our luggage (a few holiday experiences did the the trick haha....). Here are some photos.
We decided to pay a bit extra and stayed at Deluxe room. I must say your room selection definitely will affect your holiday mood. Our room was the best and we didn't regret spending extra RM. It was very spacious and only a stone throw away from the beach. We noticed the cheaper rooms were quite far from the beach, tiny & quite secluded. Personally, we don't recommend any other room than Deluxe or higher. You have nothing to lose for paying a bit extra but it helps you to stop fretting about your stay. BTR is definitely a beautiful resort. The hotel facilities weren't bad. It has decent adult and children pools. The golf course is gorgeous. It has dive centre, gym, decent restaurants, water sport facilities, football field, children playground, arcade room, spa, etc.
Tioman is a tiny island. Most things are pricey and limited. We pretty much dined in the resort. RM30.00 for beef rendang Rembau was something. RM45.00 for Thai beef basil with rice and vegetables, you decide.....We also tried the spa, RM70.00 for simple pedicure. It was OK (cheaper in KL but can't compare).
Overall, we had a good time, the weather was sunny most of the time, although it was sad tsunami happened in Japan during our 2nd day. There was a sense of panic but with constant news update on BBC News, we calmed down. We do recommend BTR but please choose Deluxe room or higher, it will make a difference. Of course less expectation on the service :) .

Singapore
My husband invited me to his work trip last year and we stayed at Marina Bay Sands Hotel for few nights toward the weekend. I usually avoid traveling with husband if he's on business trip but since it's only Singapore, I thought why not. The hotel itself is beautiful design wise and the location was fantastic. Lots to see. Although there are nothing to brag about the hotel room. Here are some photos from the trip.
Obviously being by myself while husband was busy with meetings, I had to figure out some activities. So I decided to visit Universal Studio, Sentosa and many more. From this experience, it would be more fun to have sight seeing companion at least we can take photos of each other :/ . So I decided to drag my husband back to Universal Studio again in the weekend so we get to enjoy it together.
We also dined at Clark Quay, ordered a seafood platter which costs us around $90. Yes it is more expensive than Malaysia.

Christmas 2010
We tried our level best to celebrate Christmas with family every year, but since our family live in 2 different countries we have to alternate. 2010 was Christmas with my family so we went back to my hometown, Bintulu and also long house to celebrate. As usual, we always have a great time catching up with families, eating and celebrating. Here are the fun photos.
In Bintulu, we had paku goreng (fried fern leaves), tiger prawns, Sarawak Nasi Lemak & Sarawak black pepper pizza. YUMMY!
We also strolled along Similajau Park & Tanjung Kidurong and had some light refreshments such as coconut drinks, grilled sweetcorn by the road side.
We love going back to Bintulu, it is one way for us to escape hustle bustle city life.
